-- Domaine Montmarin 2008- Aromatic mediterranean white
Domaine Montmarin, an ancient Baronnie founded in 1495 by a land grant from Charles VIII. About 50% of their production is sold in bulk with 80% of their wine sold to export. Domaine Montmarin has been a reliable producer of good value white wine over the years. The proud Baron has 600 hectares of land (1,482 acres), 210 hectares in grapes and the rest in woodland. Soil in the area is chalk, clay, flinty red clay and volcanic in nature. The equally balanced blend is aged in both stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. The intense and fruity bouquet of apricot and pear, white flowers, liquorice nuances leads to supple, well-balanced, and complex flavors. Enjoy with artisan cheeses, shellfish, and Asian food.
