creator of Hundred Acre and Layer Cake Wines. One would think with
the myriad winemaking projects that literally take him and his winemaking team
around the globe several times each year, that Jayson would be content with his
current successes, but he has wanted to make Pinot for years. And here it is! Exclusive to Morton's Steakhouse until now. We have the only
retail allocation in NOVA.
2005 G.D. Vajra Barolo "Albe" -- 91 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2005 Barolo Albe caresses the palate with a soft core of perfumed fruit. This generous, open Barolo offers tons of class and elegance. The finish is round and impeccably refined.
2005 Radford Dale, Shiraz, Eden Valley -- "Smooth and round, this vivid wine delivers gorgeous blackberry and plum fruit that's shaded with perfumy floral notes and hints of cardamom and fennel seed, all of it supple and insinuating. Drink now through 2015." Wine Spectator (Oct 2008)
2006 Jean Garaudet Beaune 1er Cru "Belissand" -- This extremely refined but rich and complex balanced wine has plenty to offer. With subtle cherry and light oak spices, this wine is ready now but will continue to open in the next few years; a great addition to any cellar.
2008 Bourgogne Pinot Noir Domaine A. Chopin et fils -- Arnaud Chopin manages this 13 ha wine property just at the border between Côte de Nuits and côte de Beaune. This wine has depth with rasberry and spices on the palate . A great pairing with duck or steak.
2008 G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso -- This blend of Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo exhumes red cherry, cola, red currants and spice. The wine which has delicate hints of roses and dark cherry on the nose pears beautifully with veal, chicken or cheese
2008 Torre Castillo Jumilla -- The wine with its intense ruby color, offers a distinctive ripe fruit aromas. Round and rich in the mouth with blackberry flavors intertwined with soft spicy notes.
Castelmaure Corbieres Rouge Grande Cuvee 2008 -- "A ripe, juicy style with flavors of raspberry, dark currant and kirsch. Mincemeat and plum pudding notes fill the supple, spicy finish.
Cataldi Madonna Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2007 -- This deep ruby red color wine reveals intense, clean and pleasing aromas of black cherry, blueberry, plum, carob and violet followed by pleasing aromas of walnut-husk. In the mouth it has agreeable tannins and intense flavors of black cherry and plum.
Château Bois Martin Rouge 2006, Pessac Leognan -- This Bois Martin has considerable aromatics and an explosion of fruits, featuring raspberry and cherry with notes of oak. Great with any grilled meat or a Coq au Vin. Can be peared also with dark chocolate.
Domaine Tortochot Bourgogne Rouge 2007 -- The delicate color is inviting, but the palate explodes with terroir, fruit and perfectly balanced acidity. Worthy of duck, pheasant, and Pate de Campagne
Finca Sobreno Toro Crianza 2005 -- Tempranillo based Northern Spanish red, a ripe, supple, full-flavored, spicy wine with excellent depth and balance - vanilla nose and wood spice
Forey Morey-St-Denis 2006 -- Coming from the mother village of grand cru in Burgundy, this pinot noir from Morey-St.-Denis is a superb expression of the terroir. The 2006 is a classic vintage of this excellent wine to be enjoyed with the best red meat cuts.
Grand Veneur, Cotes du Rhone 2008 -- Aromas of fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) and spices. The palate is full-flavored, with silky-smooth tanins. The finish offers notes of licorice and pepper
Helix Pomatia Columbia Valley 2007 -- This blend of 53% cabernet sauvignon, 31% merlot, 8% syrah. The nose has black cherry, leather, dark chocolate and tobacco notes. Needs decanting for the tannins first experienced to turn into black currant, plum, chocolate and coffee notes.
La Cabotte Cotes du Rhone 2007, D’Ardhuy -- Certified Biodynamic by ECOCERT, the domaine Cabotte, partially situated in Chateauneuf du Pape and the Mondragon area in Cotes du Rhone village produces a wine with flavors of blackcurrant, raspberry and complex black fruits, combined with woodand spices
